Catfish breeding knowledge you need to master!

The pond area for catfish farming should be large and the water should be deeper. There should be anti-escape facilities around the pond. 1. Selection of fish fry in the pond
The area of the pond for breeding catfish should be larger and the water level should not be too shallow. In order to provide a suitable growth environment for catfish, the height of the aquatic plants in the pond should be appropriate, not too long or too short, and clean the impurities in the pond regularly during the breeding process. Grass, and anti-escape facilities should be prepared around the pond to prevent catfish from escaping.

2. Change the water regularly
Good water quality will directly affect the growth of catfish. During the breeding process, the water quality in the pond should be observed at any time. If the water quality deteriorates, the water should be changed immediately, generally every 15 days or so. If the water quality is good, then Just change 30% of the water.

The yellow-green color of the water is normal water quality. If the catfish often jumps out of the water, it is because the water is too fertile and the oxygen content in the water is low. The pool water needs to be replaced immediately to improve the water quality. When it is hot and rainy, oxygen should be added to the pond at the right time to prevent the fish from dying due to lack of oxygen. Some aquatic plants such as water floating lotus can be planted in the pond, which can not only improve the water quality but also provide shade for the catfish.

3. Reasonable feeding
Feeding should be reasonable during the breeding process, and the feed should not be too much each time to avoid obstruction of the esophagus when the catfish eats too much. When the catfish is young, the feed should be chopped up to facilitate the feeding and digestion of the young fish; pelleted feed can be added at the age of 2 months. In order to ensure a balanced nutrition, some protein can be added to the feed.

4. Prevent diseases
The disease resistance of catfish is not very strong, and it is more prone to disease. The most common is the indiscriminate disease. Generally, the fry may be infected after less than a month after the fry is placed. It is manifested by the appearance of many blisters of different sizes on the fry, and the fins are red and swollen. , And then the catfish slowly rot until death.

In the breeding process, a certain proportion of quicklime or bleaching powder is regularly poured into the pond to disinfect the pond, and some anti-disease drugs can be mixed in the feed and fed together.

5. Harvesting
Pay attention to the specifications and density when placing the fry. Generally, the fish can be harvested for about 100 days after breeding. Before fishing, put some cages filled with feed or directly use fishing nets for fishing. Pay attention to when catching, smaller catfish still need to be kept in ponds for breeding, and they will be harvested and sold after reaching the listed size. After the catch, the water in the pond should be restored to its original position and disinfected once.
