  • How to distinguish water quality
    Aquaculture water is the environment in which aquatic animals live. The quality of water has a decisive impact on the success or failure of aquaculture. Then, in the process of grass-roots aquaculture, what practical methods are there to judge the quality of water?

    The most important thing is to observe the color of the water

    Water color refers to the color of suspended substances dissolved in water (including planktonic algae, humus, clay particles, etc.) and dissolved organic matter, metal ions, etc., when exposed to sunlight. Among them, plankton has the greatest impact on water color.
    Therefore, the color of the water can roughly reflect the type and quantity of plankton in the water. The classification of water color in common aquaculture water bodies is as follows:
    Excellent water color (three types and six types)
    1. Diatoms: brown, brown;
    2. Green algae: light green, emerald green, dark green;
    3. Mixture of silicon and green algae: yellow-green.

    A. Excellent water color: brown, brown
    The water quality is "fertile and lively", and the fertility is moderate. The algae in the water are diatoms, such as Chaetoceros, Nitzschia crescentia, Phaeodactylum tricornutum, etc. These algae are excellent food for shrimp larvae; in addition, there are Cylindrica spp. The breeding objects living in this environment have strong vitality, smooth body color, good food intake, digestion and absorption, and fast growth.

    B. Excellent water color: light green, emerald green
    The water quality is "tender and refreshing", the transparency is 20-35 cm, and the fertility is moderate.
    The algae in the water are green algae, such as Chlorella, Chlamydomonas, etc. The green algae can absorb a large amount of nitrogen fertilizer in the water and purify the water quality.

    C. Excellent water color: yellow-green
    It is the color of the symbiosis of diatoms and green algae.
    It is generally believed that "diatom water is unstable and green algae water is not abundant", and yellow-green water has the advantages of diatom water and green algae water, with stable water color and rich nutrition.

     

    D. Excellent water color: dark green (dense but not turbid)
    It mostly occurs in the middle and late stages of aquaculture, the water quality is relatively dense, the transparency is about 10 cm, and the algae are mainly green algae. The water quality is fatter, but lively and refreshing. There are few suspended particles in the water; the water quality is stable, which helps to slow down the stress response of shrimps to environmental and climate changes.

    The water quality of the above-mentioned excellent water color is refreshing, bright and lively, and the splash of the aerator is white, and if there is bubbles, it will quickly dissipate.
